Thesis

Through the use of the critical race theory, this project explores intersectionality and identity are portrayed in two Latino films—Fresas y Chocolate and Cuatro Lunas—by focusing on the personal lives of the characters. Thus, the goal of the project is to examine how the rhetoric used in films represents how LGBTQ Latinos are marginalized in society as well as highlight how representation in films powerfully instructs audiences about the marginalization and other struggles of this group.
